Revision of Failed Elbow Internal Joint Stabilizer with Hinged Elbow External Fixator and Augmented Ligament Repair: A Technical Report
Posterolateral rotatory instability of the elbow is a complex problem arising when both static and dynamic stabilizers of the joint are compromised. The lateral ulnar collateral ligament (LUCL) serves as the primary soft-tissue restraint to varus and external rotatory stress, while the coronoid process provides critical bony buttress against posterior subluxation. Disruption of these structures, particularly when combined with osseous injury or failed fixation, renders the elbow unstable and predisposed to recurrent dislocation.
